$2,000 annual award to be granted in founders’ name
DENVER—Cherry Creek Theatre (CCT), founded by Maxine & Mark Rossman, is now accepting applications for their previously announced Rossman Scholarship in Theatre Arts.
When the husband-and-wife duo retired from the organization in 2020 after 10 years of service and leadership, the board of directors established the scholarship in the Rossmans’ name. The award celebrates the founders’ careers in higher education, their love of theatre, and their dedication to the success of CCT.
CCT will annually award $2,000 to a Black student who has demonstrated success and the potential to succeed in the theatre industry. Applicants are free to study any field of theatre arts including but not limited to acting, directing, design, stage management, or administration. The student must be a Colorado resident, but they are welcome to attend any accredited college or university; the award is open to both high school seniors and current college students.
Applications are due by April 30, and the award will be announced in May. The 2021 winner will have an opportunity to participate in a CCT production, tentatively scheduled for August 2021.
